About the IWSAC

The Irish Water Spaniel Association of Canada (IWSAC) was re-established as a national breed club in 1997. Currently, the IWSAC has over 80 members across Canada and the United States and is becoming a robust organization capable of promoting the IWS and ensuring that it's the breed's many accomplishments are recognized.

The IWSAC was formed to share information about our wonderful breed and to support one another in our efforts to promote our dogs in particular and the breed in general to the dog community, to the public, and to potential pet owners. Our Association promotes the breed by sharing information about the breed and the breed standard, and by exhibiting our dogs in conformation, obedience, fieldwork, and other areas.

Members from across the country organize CKC sanctioned conformation matches and obedience trials. Last year, the club hosted a National Specialty in Kingston, Ontario. This was the club's first Within the next year the club hopes to host a National Specialty for Irish Water Spaniels. Check out the IWSAC Events Page for information about these events.
